Judas Priest celebra el seus cinquanta anys de música heavy metal llançant un colossal boxset de 42 discos compactes.

Aquesta és la notícia que banda havia dit que anunciaria fa un parell de dies: la publicació de 50 Heavy Metal Years Of Music, una capsa d’edició limitada amb tots els àlbums oficials d’estudi i en viu publicats fins a la data (curiosament Battle Cry no apareix en el llistat si bé li correspondria el número 28), a més de 13 discos inèdits, absolutament tots ells mesclats per en Tom Allom a La Cucina W8 i remasteritzats per Alex Wharton a Abbey Road Studios a partir de l’àudio original. Es tracta doncs del llançament més extens de música inèdita que la banda ha fet mai i sortirà el 15 d’octubre a través de Sony Music.

El cofre 50 Heavy Metal Years Of Music inclou tots els discos del grup remasteritzats i presentats en mini carpetes tipus vinil a l'estil japonès, tres directes inèdits gravats amb un 24 pistes i uns altres 5 extrets dels arxius de el grup. La caixa, de la mateixa manera que els discos, ha estat dissenyada per l'habitual col·laborador Mark Wilkinson i es completa amb cinc fotos de Ross Halfin signades pels membres del grup, una fulla d’afaitar numerada i roma el disc British Steel, un llibre amb memorabilia, fotos rares, pòsters i anuncis entre altres coses, una rèplica del programa de gira de British Steel i dues rèpliques de pòsters de la gira alemanya de British Steel i de la gira europea de Defenders Of The Faith.

El disc Reflections, extret del boxset, es podrà comprar independentment en format CD i doble elapé.
